Hello! My name is Mariella, and I'm the owner and dog walker behind Furever Besties.

I started Furever Besties because I believe every dog deserves a daily walk to stay healthy and happy. For over two years, I volunteered as a dog walker at a no-kill animal shelter, where I gained hands-on experience with dogs of every shape, size, breed, and temperament. Through that experience, I've come to believe in letting dogs sniff the world around them — it helps regulate their emotions and keeps them content on their walks.

I bring a background in project management along with years of hands-on dog experience to Furever Besties. I've personally trained four dogs with patience and consistency, and my two current pups — both rescues — love their daily walks as much as I do. I wanted to extend that same joy to every dog in my community.

What really pushed me to start Furever Besties was a scare I had with a popular dog walking/pet-sitting app. I had booked what I thought was a caring, attentive sitter to board my dog while I traveled. On the first night, I woke up to frantic messages at 3am telling me my dog had gone missing. We rushed over, and the young woman watching him promised she'd keep searching until she found him. After an hour of searching with no luck, we had to leave to catch our flight, trusting the search would continue.

Thankfully, a kind stranger found my dog stuck under a porta-potty at a home under construction and called me right away. I was just about to board my flight, so I called the sitter, hoping she could pick him up and care for him for the rest of the trip. My heart sank when she told me she'd need at least three hours before she could get to him — it was clear she hadn't really been looking for him at all. Luckily, family was able to step in and watch over him for the remainder of the trip.

That experience made me realize that not everyone treats your pet with the same heart and attention you would give your own. Combining my project management background, my love and compassion for dogs, and my years of dog walking experience, I decided to start Furever Besties. I received my Cat and Dog First Aid certification through the American Red Cross and became fully insured.

I hope to become your pup's other bestie, and I vow to always care for your pet as if they were my own. I offer dog walking, wedding pet concierge services, and boarding for the pets I already work with, serving the Rancho Cucamonga community of pet lovers who see their dogs as their Furever Besties too.
